English Cast Revealed for THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO SimulDub
The Rising of the Shield Hero is a new anime series that is getting same day simuldubs into English thanks to Crunchyroll and Funimation. This is Crunchyroll’s first simuldub title, but I doubt it will be their last. Starting on January 9, 2019, fans can watch the latest episodes as they air in Japan every Wednesday. If you prefer subtitled anime though, you’ll want to make sure to go team Crunchyroll, as Funimation will not be doing a simulsub.
“Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?
The curtain rises on a fantasy adventure about the rise of a man who has lost it all.”

According to AnimeMojo, Billy Kametz will voice Naofumi Iwatani, Erica Mendez will be Raphtalia, Brianna Knickerbocker’s voice will be heard from Filo, Ren Amaki will be voiced by Alan Lee, Motoyasu Kitamura will have Xander Mobus’ voice, and finally, Erik Scott Kimerer will be voicing Itsuki Kawasumi.
