I’m sure you all remember Garbage Pail Kids cards! I used to collect those things when I was a kid. I had a shoebox full of them that my mom obviously ended up throwing away, which is a shame.
Well, if you were a fan of those cards as well, have I got a gross treat for you! ABRAMS Children’s Books is publishing THE GARBAGE PAIL KIDS COOKBOOK and it is loaded with easy-to-follow recipes from NYC-based chef and Chopped Champion Elisabeth Weinberg and her husband, Matt Stine, who is the son of Goosebumps creator and GPK author R.L. Stine.
With 35 delicious – and mostly healthy – recipes, this cookbook has made learning to cook and eat like a real Garbage Pail Kid easy and fun! Readers can expect to see recipes like “Nasty Nick’s Garlic Snots”, “Rob Slob’s Garbage Pail Slaw”, and “Adam Bomb’s Blender Blasters”! Given the book’s late September pub date (9/27), I can envision a really fun Halloween-themed feature with some of the gross, kid-friendly recipes to make for parties, trick-or-treaters, etc.
I’ve actually got a couple of recipes to share with you that you can try out right now if you want! The first is “Dead Ted’s Maggott Chili” and the other is “Over Flo’s Dirty Diapers.”
These recipes may sound gross, but I’m sure the food actually ends up being decent… if you make it right. The Garbage Pail Kids Cookbook will be released on September 27th, 2022.
