Enjoy the ELDEN RING Soundtrack Live, but in Jazz This December
Elden Ring is a game that taught me that I don’t like Souls-like games, but many people love it. If you’re someone that loves the game and/or its music, you’ll want to look forward to December 3 when a special jazz music streaming event is set to take place. Titled Elden Ring: A Night in the Lands Between, the musical event will see GRAMMY Award-winning musician Kenny Garrett and Takuya Kuroda work together with other musicians to perform jazz versions of select songs from Elden Ring’s soundtrack. This sounds like one interesting night.
A Night in the Lands Between will take place in Hollywood, California, at the Bourbon Room with a livestream available to viewers in the United States. It will begin at 6 PM PT and run until about 10 PM PT. You will need to purchase a ticket regardless if you want to attend in-person or via livestream with tickets available at various tiers and with VIP packages available. You can find additional information on the event’s website. Sharing his thoughts on the event, Kuroda said:
If I can pick one word to describe this project, it's epic. I think that's really the important part, it's just the experience of watching the performance by us, and [saying] just like 'wow this is stunning', and then 'wow this is really the music for ELDEN RING.
Garrett added:
I'm always thinking about that we take the audience on a journey. It's not going to be what you thought it was.
Talking about using the event to celebrate how successful Elden Ring has been, Wataru Nakasuji from Bandai Namco said:
We want to celebrate the incredible success of ELDEN RING by presenting this truly unprecedented live and livestreamed Jazz concert, giving fans a different way to immerse in the rich engaging world that has dominated their gaming days and nights this past year. While video game soundtracks have seen variations as symphonic music and even Rock n’ Roll, our ‘A Night in the Lands Between’ Jazz event is exploring a wonderfully different treatment of the ELDEN RING soundtrack. Jazz master Kenny Garrett and new generation player Takuya Kuroda are both truly world-class musicians, respected and renowned by lovers of Jazz around the world, and they are now lending their different talents to give birth to a new creative way to meld music and video games.
