Enjoy These Outtakes From Michael Bay's 1996 Film THE ROCK with Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery
Michael Bay’s 1996 film The Rock is a high-octane action thriller that is always a blast to watch! I recently came across some behind-the-scenes outtakes from the film’s production that I had to share. Things range from intense to funny as the actors are shooting the movie. Ed Harris has a meltdown at one point.
The story is set San Francisco and revolves around the infamous Alcatraz Island, now taken over by a rogue group of U.S. Marines led by Brigadier General Frank Hummel, portrayed by Harris. Disillusioned by the government's neglect of soldiers who died under his command on covert missions, Hummel threatens to launch VX gas missiles into San Francisco unless the government pays compensation to the families of the deceased soldiers. The tension escalates quickly, presenting a grave threat to the lives of millions.
To thwart this catastrophic threat, an unlikely duo is formed: Stanley Goodspeed, an FBI chemical weapons expert played by Nicolas Cage, and John Patrick Mason, a British national and the only man ever to escape Alcatraz, played by Sean Connery. Despite their differences, they must infiltrate Alcatraz, now a fortress, to disarm the missiles.
