Enjoy This Hilarious Blooper Reel From STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE
Here’s a blooper reel from the Star Wars: A New Hope that is an absolute blast. If you’ve never seen this, it’s a real treat.
This reel comes from the era when the movie was still known as The Star Wars, and it features hilarious outtakes that will have you laughing.
The footage was uncovered several years ago by J.W. Rinzler, a Lucasfilm editor who had deep access to the archives while working on "The Making of 'Return of the Jedi'". While digging through the vaults, Rinzler came across the footage.
A quick heads-up before you hit play. There is no sound on the first few clips. This isn’t an error. The original audio simply wasn’t present. Even without sound, the visuals carry the comedy just fine.
The highlights are plentiful. There’s some fantastic unintentional physical comedy from the Stormtroopers, who spend a surprising amount of time slipping, falling, and generally failing to look intimidating.
Watching them eat it on set had me laughing out loud. Another standout moment comes from seeing Peter Cushing flub a line. Watching the usually composed Grand Moff Tarkin actor break character is genuinely delightful.
For fans of Star Wars this blooper reel is pure joy. It humanizes the production, shows the cast having fun, and proves that even in a galaxy far, far away, people still trip over their own feet and mess up their lines.
