Enjoy This Spin on D&D Monsters in MY DAD'S MONSTER MANUAL
James Introcaso has a great new unofficial supplement for Dungeons & Dragons fans. Inside My Dad’s Monster Manual, DMs will find 80 stat blocks for monsters that anyone can use however they see fit. The best part is how these were created.
Introcaso showed his father, Lucian J. Introcaso, just the images of every creature in the Monster Manual and ask his father to name the creature, talk about how the creature behaved, and more. For instance, the Owlbear is now the Barowel. This is absolutely brilliant and a fun way to approach the project.
Many creatures were removed from the list for various reasons such as Lucian’s lore being too close to the original or another creature.
Behold the power of my dad’s mind! Hey, my name is James Introcaso, and my father is pretty great. From the time I was a kid, my father created original stories using my toys. Now as an adult and professional game designer, I asked my dad to look at just the art of the Monster Manual. For every picture, I asked him how he thought this creature behaved, its history, and its name. Then I took this information and rewrote the Monster Manual according to my dad’s lore.
You can purchase My Dad’s Monster Manual from DMs Guild starting for $14.95 with a physical copy also available.
