Enjoy This Wonderful Animated Historical Short Film THE HIDDEN LIFE OF ROSA PARKS
When Rosa Parks’ story was first shared with me in elementary school, the teacher focused on the legendary bus story and how she would not move to the back of the bus when she was told to. It wasn’t until later in life that I learned more details on her life like how she was a Civil Rights activist well before her bus story.
There’s now a wonderful animated short that I wanted to share with you that was created by the creative agency Eido in partnership with TED-Ed. It’s titled The Hidden Life of Rosa Parks, and it offers a more detailed look into the life that she led.
Throughout her life, Rosa Parks repeatedly challenged racial violence and the prejudiced systems protecting its perpetrators. But this work came at an enormous risk – and a personal price.
You may already know some of the information shared in the short, you might not, but chances are you’ll be reminded of something cool about her or even learn something for the first time.
The Hidden Life of Rosa Parks was directed by Joash Berkeley at Eido, along with a very creative team of designers and animators. And to learn more about Rosa Parks - visit RosaParks.org or Achievement.org.
