Enjoyable Trailer For EDDIE THE EAGLE, An Olympic Ski-Jumper Biopic with Egerton and Jackman

Kingsman: The Secret Service director Matthew Vaughn teamed back up with his young star Taron Egerton to develop an entertaining film based on Olympic ski-jumper Michael Edwards. Hugh Jackman plays Edwards' coach in the story. Vaughn is producing the inspirational sports film, which is being directed Dexter Fletcher (Sunshine on Leith). We have the first trailer for the film for you to watch today, and it seriously looks like a great movie! There's a lot of fun humor in it that I wasn't expecting. Here's the synopsis for the film:

Eddie the Eagle follows the realisation of the childhood dream of Michael Edwards (a.k.a Eddie), and his unflinching determination to become Great Britain’s first Olympic ski-jumper. Reluctantly aided by former ski-jumper Bronson Peary as his coach, Eddie is unwavering in his quest to reach the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. Eddie the Eagle is an uplifting, inspirational story that celebrates human spirit, passion, and one man’s refusal to accept defeat.

In an interview with USA Today, Jackman talked about the true story the film is based on (WARNING: potential spoilers ahead for those who don't know what happens. If you don't want to know, just skip to the trailer):

“Every kid should see this movie, because it reminds people that you don’t have to win to be a winner. Eddie the Eagle might not have ended up on the medal podium, but he was victorious. It’s a story of a man who had a dream, and nothing was going to stop him. “

Eddie the Eagle hits theaters on February 26th, 2016, and I'm looking forward to watching it!
