Epic AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Scene Rumored to Feature Namor’s Tsunami Battle and Big MCU Debuts

The Avengers: Doomsday hype train is picking up serious speed, and if the latest reports are true, Marvel fans are in for something pretty damn wild. The first trailer is expected to drop next month, but a new scoop is teasing an epic underwater battle that could be one of the most visually stunning sequences in the MCU to date.

According to scooper James Mack, who’s previously shared accurate costume details before they leaked online, “previs and 3D techvis tests” for Avengers: Doomsday show Namor the Submariner in a jaw-dropping action scene “amid a massive tsunami.” Unsurprisingly, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever antagonist is “seemingly the one causing it.”

Mack also revealed that the sequence features a giant octopus and Namor’s Talokan army, which includes a fierce warrior named Andromeda, likely inspired by the comic character Andromeda Attumasen, the illegitimate daughter of Attuma.

Another “muscular warrior” spotted in the footage is believed to be Orka, a comic villain with a killer whale motif. In this take, he reportedly has “fins” instead of a full costume, giving the character a more aquatic, realistic design.

I can’t say I was impressed with Namor’s debut in Wakanda Forever, but it sounds like maybe the Russo Brothers are cranking his role up several notches as he joins the massive battle against Doctor Doom.

Tenoch Huerta, who plays Namor, previously shared how he found out about returning for the movie.

“They practically told us around 12 at night. And at 5:30 in the morning, the livestream started, and they told us, 'Hey, the news is about to drop,'” Huerta said, adding that it was “surprising” and “cool.”

Huerta explained that filming Avengers: Doomsday has been a different experience from his time on Wakanda Forever, saying:

“There are twenty-something characters involved in the story. Which means we are each going to have smaller roles because there needs to be space for all the characters and all the universes.”

He described his return as “simpler” in both “terms of time and energy,” and called Vanessa Kirby a “great and spectacular coworker.” If you’re familiar with the comics, you know there’s a interesting connection between Namor and Kirby’s character, Sue Storm.

The film’s cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Making their Avengers franchise debuts are Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman.

The team expands even further with The Fantastic Four: First Steps cast, which includesPedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, alongside X-Men legends Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden.

To top it off, Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum joins the fray, while Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, and Ryan Reynolds are also expected to appear.

Avengers: Doomsday is directed by the Russo Brothers, from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, who previously worked with them on Avengers: Endgame and the Captain America films. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron is also involved with the script.

Avengers: Doomsday sounds like it’s shaping up to be a next-level Marvel spectacle. The film hits theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.
