EPiC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT Teaser Trailer Delivers an Exciting First Look at Baz Luhrmann’s New Doc Film

Neon has dropped the teaser for EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, and it offers an exciting glimpse at what Baz Luhrmann has crafted as a follow up to his 2022 hit Elvis.

If you enjoy music documentaries, archival film restoration, or anything connected to Elvis Presley’s Las Vegas era, this looks like something you’ll enjoy.

Luhrmann leans entirely on rare material that fans have never seen. The film pulls from long lost footage of Elvis Presley’s Las Vegas residency in the 1970s, blends in rare 16mm frames from Elvis on Tour, mixes in personal 8mm reels from the Graceland archive, and layers it all with rediscovered audio recordings where Presley shares “his side of the story.”

The approach creates a cinematic experience that sits somewhere between concert film, biography, and time capsule. It plays like a fresh window into the life, music, and myth of Elvis during those final years when the Vegas stage became part of his legend.

Neon’s official description lays out the scope and tone of what Luhrmann is doing. “Baz Luhrmann returns to the subject of his most audacious film 2022’s Elvis with the extraordinary EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert.

“Free of contemporary interviews with experts, critics, other stakeholders, the film is propelled by recently discovered archival footage shot at the beginning of the famed performer's Las Vegas residency.

“Originally intended to last a few weeks at the hotel, the 1969 engagement was shockingly lucrative, and stretched on for over seven years. Brilliantly compiled with an aficionado's enthusiasm & sensitivity, it shifts skilfully between rehearsals, where Presley is cheerful, hard working, even goofy, and live performances that vary from powerful and grandiose to rushed.”

That mix of rehearsal room looseness and full scale Vegas spectacle gives the teaser its energy. You see Elvis working, laughing, riffing, then stepping out into an environment that shaped his final chapter as a performer. It feels intimate and grand at the same time, which is very much in line with what Luhrmann does best.

The filmmaker behind Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, Australia and its expanded cut Faraway Downs, The Great Gatsby, and of course Elvis, builds these projects with a sense of scale and texture that makes archival footage feel alive again.

EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is shaping up to be an awesome event for moviegoers, music lovers, and anyone who wants to see a different portrait of Elvis Presley.

The new documentary premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival and is set to arrive in IMAX for a one week engagement on February 20, 2026 before opening in theaters worldwide on February 27.
