Epic New Chinese Trailer for DUNE Offers Up Some Cool New Footage
A new trailer for Denis Villeneuve's epic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune has been released. This one comes from China and features some cool new footage from the film that we’ve all be waiting to finally see!
The movie is a mythic and emotionally charged hero's journey, and it tells the story of “Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity's greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive."
Villeneuve has big plans for this sci-fi franchise as he is looking to make two more films, and he’s also got that HBO Max series in development, Dune: The Sisterhood. I hope that he gets to realize his full vision for Dune, because I want to see the full story told. This first film is only the first half of Herbert’s 1965 book.
The film’s cast includes Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Zendaya as Chani, Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Harkonnen, Javier Bardem as tribe leader Stilgar, Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam, David Dastmcalchian as Piter De Vries, Chang Chen as Dr. Yueh, Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Liet-Kynes, and Dave Bautista as the Baron’s nephew Rabban.
Dune will finally open in theaters and be released on HBO Max on October 21st.
