EQUALIZER 2 Director Antoine Fuqua is Meeting with Kevin Feige Soon about a Marvel Movie

It looks like there's a chance we might see the director of Training Day and The Equalizer films, Antoine Fuqua, direct a Marvel movie at some point. During a recent interview with Hey U Guys, he talked about how Sony Pictures already approached him about directing Morbius The Living Vampire, and that he's going to be taking a meeting with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige soon.

"Sony asked me to do Morbius. I’m going to have a meeting with Kevin [Feige] soon…Just talking."

These would be two separate projects as Kevin Feige isn't involved with Morbius The Living Vampire. Plus, Sony has already hired Daniel Espinosa (Life) to direct it, so that film's off the table. Fuqua also talked about picking the right comic book film project, saying:

"For me it has to be the right one, in the right situation because there’s so much visual effects going on and – ‘Where’s the director in it all?’ I need to understand it because it’s like management… they have a machine, they’ve got people, there’s the design, the whole thing is sketched out ... Is the director doing that? Or is it a hundred other people?"

Fuqua previously talked about his love of comic books and how Marvel approached him about directing Black Panther years ago. He says that he'd love to take on a superhero film project at some point:

"I have a thirteen-year-old son so I’m watching more of that again and it’s exciting to do that. I’d love to create a new one. Y’know, something that’s closer to what I get excited about."

It'll be interesting to see what comes out of his meeting with Marvel. Fuqua is a solid director that has made some really good films. What Marvel characters would you like to see him take on?
