Ernie Hudson Films Cameo in GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot

Paul Feig completed shooting his Ghostbusters reboot over the weekend, and he revealed in a tweet that Ernie Hudson actually shot a cameo for the film. As you know, he played Winston Zeddemore in the original Ghostbusters movies.

He shot his cameo on the last day of production, and there are no details on what his cameo will be in the film. We do know that this reboot will have no connections to the original movies, though, so he will not be reprising his original role.

It has previously been revealed that Dan Aykroyd will have a cameo as a taxi driver, and Bill Murray will play a ghost debunker in the movie. Hudson seemed against the idea of a reboot at first and told The Telegraph in an interview:

“I heard it was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies. If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it Ghostbusters?
“I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they’ll be funny, and if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that’s great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that.
“Maybe it will come out and be the most amazing thing, but in my opinion I think it would be wrong to do another movie that didn’t include the guys. And that didn’t include me!”

He changed his tune toward the remake earlier this year, though, and now he has a cameo in the movie. He recently posted the following comment on Twitter:

I guess when there’s a steady paycheck involved, he’ll say whatever they want him to say.
