Ernie Hudson Joins NBC's QUANTUM LEAP Reboot Series

Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) is set to star alongside Raymond Lee in NBC’s upcoming Quantum Leap reboot series. I love Ernie Hudson, and it’s great to see him land a role like this in a high-profile series, which is based on the beloved 1990s sci-fi drama.

The series is set 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. In this new series, “a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.”

Lee takes on the role of Dr. Ben Seong, “a world-renowned physicist working on a time-travel project known as Quantum Leap who gets stuck in the late 1980s with amnesia after using the technology.”

Hudson plays a character named Herbert “Magic” Williams, “a Vietnam veteran and head of the time travel project at Quantum Leap. Using a bit of politicking and his military know-how to keep the Pentagon at bay, Magic buys the team some time to rescue Ben but expects answers once he’s back.”

The show is being written and executive produced by La Brea co-showrunners Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt, and it’s being executive produced by Blindspot creator Martin Gero as well as Quantum Leap creator Don Bellisario and co-narrator Deborah Pratt.
