ESports "Too Violent" For Olympics According To International Olympic Committee President

There have been whispers of e-Sports becoming a part of Olympic events for a while now, although all that talk appears to have gone out the door after a recent interview with the International Olympic Committee's president. Thomas Bach spoke at the Asian Games (which featured e-Sports competition as a demonstration sport at the event) and talked about how he doesn't see the sport ever becoming an Olympic event due to the promotion of violence (via Eurogamer):

"We cannot have in the Olympic programme a game which is promoting violence or discrimination. So-called killer games. They, from our point of view, are contradictory to the Olympic values and cannot therefore be accepted."

Apparently, Dota and CS:GO promote violence far more than boxing, fencing, or martial arts. Nevertheless it appears that eSports won't be at the 2020 Tokyo games, which is where many people hoped to see the sport make a big debut. Do you think the statement is a cop-out? Do you really care if it is? Do you think e-sports have a place at the Olympic games?
