E.T. and Henry Thomas' Elliot Reunite in a Wonderful Short Film Titled A HOLIDAY REUNION
Xfinity has released a wonderful short film featuring the return of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial reuniting with his friend Elliot, and Henry Thomas reprises his role! The short film is titled A Holiday Reunion, and this is the synopsis that was shared:
After 37 years, E.T. comes back to visit his friend, Elliott, for the holidays. During his stay, E.T. learns that Elliott now has a family of his own and that technology has completely changed on Earth since his last visit. Learn more at xfinity.com/ET
The short is premiering Thursday on NBC, Syfy, and on the website of Comcast Xfinity. You can watch it right now, though, in its entirety below. When E.T. returns, he finds that Elliott has a family of his own, including two kids who have a striking resemblance to a young Thomas and Drew Barrymore. Thomas had this to say in a statement:
“The audience is going to get everything they want out of a sequel without the messy bits that could destroy the beauty of the original and the special place it has in people’s minds and hearts.”
Director Steven Spielberg was supportive of the reunion short and served as a consultant on the project. It’s pretty cool to see these two characters back together again after all these years!
