ETERNALS Director Chloe Zhao Would Helm Kevin Feige's STAR WARS Movie If He Asked Her
It looks like director Chloe Zhao has made an epic Marvel film with Eternals. Most people who have seen it seemed to love it, and I’m personally super excited to see it. The movie heavily leans on sci-fi fantasy elements so, of course, during the press rounds, she was asked about Star Wars.
While talking to The Playlist, the filmmaker was asked if she would consider directing Kevin Feige’s upcoming Star Wars project, and she said, "I would, I’ll do anything Kevin asked me to do."
No director has been announced for the project yet, but it’s certainly possible that Feige could ask Zhao to direct if he thinks her filmmaking style would fit the story that he’s looking to tell.
We don't know much about his Star Wars movie yet, but Feige came to Kathleen Kennedy with the idea, and Loki writer Michael Waldron recently joined the project as a screenwriter. What we do know is that the movie will explore new people and places in that universe, and it will not be connected to the Skywalker saga.
Feige previously said, “I love that world and I love the notion of exploring new people and new places in that universe. But that’s sort of all that can be said for now.”
It has also been reported that “Feige has told a major actor that there’s a specific role he would like that person to play if and when he makes the movie.” We know nothing about who that actor is or the character that he wants that actor to play.
What do you think about Zhao directing a Star Wars movie? Should Feige ask her?
