ETERNALS Star Lauren Ridloff Says She Believes Her Return to the MCU Is "Unlikely"
Lauren Ridloff was among the star-studded cast that made up Marvel’s Eternals, and although that film set up an interesting storyline that was meant to be further explored, it was a box office flop, and all future plans for those characters were pretty much stopped in their tracks.
While some of the actors have expressed hope about returning to the MCU in some capacity, and the upcoming event ensemble film, Avengers: Doomsday, seems like the most logical place that could happen, Ridloff is not expecting a call to return.
The actress sat down with The Direct to chat about her career, which included a major run on the show The Walking Dead, and appearances in many films, and she was asked if she still believed she’d return to the role of Makkari one day, as she’d expressed in previous interviews.
Ridloff replied via her ASL interpreter, "Not likely. I don't know, my magic eight ball is telling me 'Not likely.'"
The outstanding ensemble cast of Eternals includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
Tiamut did appear in Captain America: Brave New World, but the gigantic Celestial was only used as a plot device to introduce Adamantium to the MCU. As for the future of the rest of the characters and/or their story, we will just have to wait and see if they reappear.
