ETERNITY CODE is Almost Here in the United States!
Eternity Code is finally releasing for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG next week and Konami was kind enough to send me a box to open up. I might be a little weird in the fact that I don’t really look at what’s coming in future packs, but I have heard a couple of things leading up to Eternity Code, especially with it releasing in Europe earlier in May. Well, I knew Linkross was being released which is a card Konami will probably have to ban in the not too distant future as it is often abused in combo decks. I had also heard that we were getting new Ancient Warriors cards, a new Thunder Dragon card, and new Plunder Patroll cards. I’m hoping that we can see Plunder Patrolls and Ancient Warriors start making some headway into the meta, but I still doubt that’s going to happen unless some crazy things happen with the ban list.
I was surprised to see so much WATER support as well with the Deep Sea cards and Marincess cards that were added. We also got the Nemeses archetype going although I doubt it’s very viable right now.
One thing that changed with Eternity Code was that Konami has done away with Rares, so you’re guaranteed at least a Super Rare (read foil) in every pack which is actually really nice in my opinion. Eternity Code launches in the U.S. on June 5. You can check out my box opening below and be sure to correct me on anything that I get wrong. What cards are you most excited for?
