Ever Wonder Why The Hulk Has So Many Pairs of Purple Pants? Here's The Answer
I don't know about you, but the question has crossed my mind many times about why Bruce Banner a.k.a. The Hulk has so many pairs of purple pants. Well, thanks to The Immortal Hulk #4, we now have an answer.
For those of you not familiar with The Immortal Hulk, it's more of a horror-style series where The Hulk is like a monstrous boogeyman that comes out at night to fight evil. Bruce Banner and the Hulk are believed to be dead, but one reporter from Arizona, Jacqueline McGee, has noticed a pattern of Hulk sightings and is tracking him down.
In the latest issue, McGee visits Bruce Banner’s old college roommate, Walter Langowski. Langowski a.k.a. Sasquatch, and McGee asks him about what Banner was like in college.
Langowski says that Banner was an intense person, with a bit of a temper. He goes on to share a weird story of how Banner ended up giving all of his clothes the Goodwill at one point because he wanted to emulate Albert Einstein by buying ten identical suits so that he’d never have to waste the time and energy deciding what to wear.
It's revealed here that Banner decided that all of his suits and clothes would be purple. Why? You ask? Well, Banner explains in a flashback scene, saying:
"It’s called style, Walter. If anything, this will only become more fashionable."
So, Banner thought that the future of fashion would be purple so he went out and bought a bunch of purple pants!
What do you think about this explanation for why the Hulk had so many purple pants?
