EVERSPACE 2 Will Receive First Major Early Access Update This Month
Everspace 2 is a really fun space flight RPG from Rockfish Games. It’s available on Steam and GOG via Early Access programs and I’ve greatly been enjoying my time in it. Rockfish Games recently announced that the first major update for the game is coming on April 28. This Early Access update features new mission types, new activities, new ship types, a new companion, game balances, a new Outlaw subfaction, and much more.
If you played Everspace: Encounters, you may recall the outlaw Elek. Well, the new main mission will see you rescuing the alien Elek from underground caves surrounded by corrosive enemies called Cave Crawlers. Once rescued, Elek will provide you with clues to progress the story and will be available as a wingman in battles.
The new ship is the Bomber. The Bomber is a heavy-class ship that uses energy to power their secondary weapons instead of ammunition and they regenerate hull as they damage enemy ships. Its ARC-9000 Ultimate ability will damage all ships in its vicinity. If you’re more into the lighter ships, the team has revealed the Vanguard will be released in a post-update patch.
These changes are sure to be very welcome additions and I cannot wait. Are you excited for the new Bomber ship or are you waiting for the Vanguard? You can find more details over at the Kickstarter.
