Every On-Screen Death in THE LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy

Someone at Digg has created a video montage of every single casualty that is shown in Peter Jackson's epic trilogy for The Lord of the Rings. It's six minutes of pure death, and in the end these films tell a story about the genocide of orcs. Seriously, so many orcs died! After watching this video I kind of feel sorry for them. But, they wouldn't have died had they decided to join the good guys! The caption with the video points out that they used the extended editions of these films to make the video. You know what would be interesting? A movie that told this tale from the point of view of the orcs. In total there are 212,470 on-screen deaths.

Compressing Peter Jackson's epics into nonstop casualties almost makes us feel badly for the orcs. Almost. And before you ask, yes, we used the extended editions. Edited by Bryan Menegus
