Everything Coming to Luna+ and Prime Gaming in February 2023
Amazon Luna is a video game streaming platform that lets you play games via the cloud. In the wake of Google Stadia’s death, Luna is trying to make a name for itself. If you have Amazon Prime, you get access to a few games for no additional cost, but you can subscribe to Luna+ for $9.99 or Ubisoft+ for $17.99 or even the Jackbox Games pack for $4.99 per month. In my experience, the service is okay, but definitely has room to grow. That being said, Amazon Luna recently announced two new games coming to Luna+ in February.
Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider
In the oppressed world of Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider, humanity finds an unlikely hero. After building an army of super soldiers as weapons of war, the authoritarians unwittingly seal their own fates by manifesting a ninja warrior known as Moonrider. Conceived as a tool to preserve the totalitarian state, the Moonrider instead rejects its intended purpose and wages a relentless battle for vengeance against its creators and fellow super soldiers. Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider will be available on Luna+ in February (rated RP for Rating Pending).
Sail Forth
In Sail Forth, players can explore the deep blue and command a sailing fleet of customizable ships. With the wind at their backs, they can discover an ocean whose ancient depths have swallowed the key to the mysterious past. Players can befriend dolphins and other curious sea creatures and run down a band of gutless pirates. Sail Forth will be available on Luna+ in February (rated E for Everyone).
In addition, the free games for Prime members (labeled Prime Gaming) are changing up to feature these four titles.
Yakuza Kiwami
In Yakuza Kiwami, play as Kazuma Kiryu, an up-and-coming yakuza who takes the fall for the murder of a crime boss, only to emerge from prison ten years later to a changed world. This remake of Yakuza, the first game in the Yakuza series, has enhanced gameplay, and expanded story, return of battle styles from Yakuza 0, and re-recorded audio by the series cast. Yakuza Kiwami will be free to play for Prime members in February (rated M for Mature 17+).
WRC Generations
In WRC Generations, players can dive into the action and race the most comprehensive, realistic, and demanding rally simulation ever developed. Strategies change with the inclusion of hybrid models from the 2022 WRC championship making drivers and teams adopt as they race across 21 rally locations, including 13 of the events from the 2022 official championship. WRC Generations will be available on Luna+ in February (rated E for Everyone).
Potion Permit
With trusty tools and a brewing cauldron, players in Potion Permit become an accomplished chemist looking to convince the residents of Moonbury of the wonders or modern alchemy and cure the mayor’s daughter. Gather ingredients out in the world, diagnose symptoms, and find cures in this open-ended sim RPG. Potion Permit will be free to play for Prime members in February (rated E for Everyone).
SkateBIRD
In SkateBIRD, players take the role of a lonely lil’ bird, whose Big Friend has hung up their board for good. Their job sucks, and lately, they’re barely ever home to hang out with their feathery friend. Players will fix all that with the power of being a chill skateboarding bird. They may be tiny, but the more they skate, the more friends they’ll make. Birds will come check out their park, help them find more parks, and together, fix Big Friend’s life! SkateBIRD will be free to play for Prime members in February (rated T for Teen).
Additionally, anyone can enjoy two free months of Luna+ now! This offer will end on March 18 and is open to new and returning subscribers. That’s a pretty sweet deal.
