EVIL DEAD WRATH Wraps Production and Unleashes a Bloody Announcement Video
Fans of the Evil Dead franchise have another reason to get excited as Evil Dead Wrath has officially wrapped production, bringing the next chapter of the long-running horror series one step closer to its theatrical release on April 7, 2028.
The update was confirmed by Bloody-Disgusting, which reported that filming has now concluded and the project has moved into post-production. With cameras no longer rolling, the creative team can now focus on shaping the final cut and polishing the film ahead of its arrival in theaters.
To mark the occasion, a bloody announcement video was released celebrating the cast and crew's work on the latest entry in the franchise.
The film is directed by Francis Galluppi, who also wrote the screenplay. Galluppi previously worked on the crime thriller The Last Stop in Yuma County, and now he's taking on one of horror's most beloved and brutal franchises.
The cast includes Charlotte Hope, Zach Gilford, Jessica McNamee, Josh Helman, Elizabeth Cullen, Ella Newton, and Ella Oliphant.
Series creator Sam Raimi is producing alongside Rob Tapert, and Raimi has already shared high praise for Galluppi's work. Speaking previously, he said:
“Francis Galluppi is a storyteller who knows when to keep us waiting in simmering tension and when to hit us with explosive violence. He is a director that shows uncommon control in his feature debut.”
Bruce Campbell, Jose Canas, and Romel Adam are attached as executive producers.
Story details are still being kept under wraps, but the movie is expected to continue the franchise's more recent anthology-style approach. Rather than focusing on a single recurring hero, the story will reportedly introduce a new group of unfortunate characters who find themselves facing the horrors connected to the infamous Book of the Dead.
The future of the franchise is looking especially busy. Before Evil Dead Wrath arrives, director Sébastien Vaniček will bring Evil Dead Burn to theaters on July 10.
With multiple films in development through Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, the series continues expanding its mythology through standalone stories set within the same cursed world.
For fans of the franchise, that's great news. The Evil Dead universe keeps finding fresh ways to unleash Deadite nightmares, and now that Evil Dead Wrath has completed production, the countdown to its arrival can officially begin.
