Ewan McGregor is "Totally Up" For Playing Playing Obi-Wan Kenobi Again After The Lucasfilm Series

I’m sure some of you remember that Ewan McGregor had no interest in returning to the Star Wars franchise after making the prequel films. But now, all these years later, he’s back as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new live-action series from Lucasfilm.

It seems this Obi-Wan Kenobi series has reinvigorated him and in a recent interview with Total Film, McGregor revealed that he would love to return as Obi-Wan again at some point in the Star Wars franchise. He told them:

"If we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that. Here I go again. It’s like me knocking at Disney’s door again!”

The actor went on to talk about his time shooting the new Star Wars series, saying he enjoyed the experience this time around more due to the writing and the people involved with creating the series:

"It was nice to come back and to bridge that gap between me and Alec Guinness. I got as much, or more, out of playing him this time than I did in the first three movies put together. That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, "where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, turned evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader."

Hayden Christensen is back as Vader, and the series also stars Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will drop on Disney+ on May 25th!
