Ewan McGregor Rumored To Be Reprising His Role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

Another Star Wars rumor has surfaced for Episode IX that claims Ewan McGregor will return to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the J.J. Abrams-directed film. This is one of those rumors that we've heard for both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. But with Yoda making an appearance in The Last Jedi, maybe Obi-Wan will finally show up in the final installment to reveal some secrets of The Force to Rey in the form of a Force Ghost so that she can help take down the First Order.

According to The Sun, McGregor will "secretly" shoot scenes for the film later this year. It's up to the fans to speculate about what his role in the movie will be. He did do a bit of work in The Force Awakens with some voiceover work when Rey picked up Skywalker's Lightsaber and started hearing voices.

I know that The Sun isn't the most reliable source because it's a British tabloid, but they were the one who first broke the news about Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the role of Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home, so there might be some truth to it.

I think a lot of fans have been wanting to see the return of McGregor in the role of Obi-Wan for some time now. Bringing him back for Episode IX would be a great way to reintroduce him back into the franchise before they develop and release his standalone film, if that's even something that Lucasfilm decides to move forward with.

Do you think Obi-Wan will appear in Episode IX? More importantly, do you want him to appear in the movie?
