Ewan McGregor, Shiloh Fernandez, and Val Kilmer Have Joined the Cast of Mob Drama THE BIRTHDAY CAKE
Ewan McGregor (Big Fish, Fargo), Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead, Burn), and Val Kilmer (Top Gun, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) have reportedly joined the cast of the mob drama The Birthday Cake.
The film is the directorial debut from Jim Giannopoulos, who also wrote the original story and co-wrote the script with Fernandez and Diomedes Raul Bermudez. Lorraine Bracco (Goodfellas, The Sopranos), Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars) and David Mazouz (Gotham) are also featured in the cast. THR reports the following description for the film:
The indie will see Fernandez play Giovanni, who reluctantly continues the family tradition of bringing a cake to the home of his uncle Angelo (Kilmer) on the 10th anniversary of his father's death. But Giovanni’s life changes that night after witnessing a murder and learning the truth about what happened to his father.
