Exciting Full Trailer for THE ORVILLE: NEW HORIZONS - Hope Is on the Horizon
Hulu has just dropped the full trailer for the long-awaited third season of The Orville. The next season is titled The Orville: New Horizons, and it’s going to take fans on an exhilarating ride! This has been such a fun show to watch. It started out as a Star Trek parody, but it kind of morphed from that into a straight sci-fi show. There’s still humor in the series and MacFarlane’s Captain Ed Mercer even has a Star Wars reference in the trailer.
The Orville has still got the optimism and playfulness that we’ve enjoyed, but it doesn’t feel like a parody anymore. It’s its own thing now and that’s awesome! On top of that the special effects are actually pretty impressive.
MacFarlane returns to star in the series and he is joined by Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J. Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman, Jessica Szohr, and Anne Winters.
The Star Trek-inspired series is set 400 years in the future, and it “finds the crew of the U.S.S. Orville continuing their mission of exploration, as they navigate both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships.”
The future of the show is uncertain after Season 3 as Macfarlane has been focusing his attention on other projects that he has in development under his huge deal with NBCUniversal. But the door is open for more seasons if and when the creator wants to do it.
