Exciting New Trailer for HBO's HIS DARK MATERIALS Shows Us What's Coming in the Weeks Ahead
The epic fantasy series His Dark Materials made its big debut on HBO last night, and I loved it! This was a fantastic start to what looks like a great series! I’m very happy with how the series turned out. There are seven more episodes coming in Season 1, and today we’ve got a trailer to share with you that teases what is coming.
One of the most exciting aspects of the trailer is that it gives a preview of the highly-anticipated fight between bear kings Iorek Byrnison and Ragnar Sturlusson.
The first season of His Dark Materials follows Lyra (Dafne Keen), “a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Lyra’s search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets a determined and courageous boy called Will. Together they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living — and the dead — in their hands.”
The series returns on November 10 on BBC and on November 11 on HBO. The second episode is titled “The Idea of North,” and the office synopsis for the episode reads:
“Lyra arrives to her new life in London, determined to find Roger with Mrs. Coulter’s help; the Gyptians continue their search for the missing children and the elusive Gobblers.”
Keen is join in the series by Lin Manuel-Miranda (Hamilton, Mary Poppins Returns) as Lee Scoresby, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, and Clarke Peters (The Wire) is playing Dr. Carne a.k.a. The Master. Ian Gelder (Queers) plays Librarian Scholar Charles, Ruth Wilson (The Affair) plays Mrs. Coulter, Will Keen (Wolf Hall) plays Father MacPhail, Ariyon Bakare (Life) plays Lord Boreal, and Georgina Campbell (Black Mirror) plays Adele Starminster.
Have you watched the first episode of His Dark Materials yet? If so, what did you think!?
