Exciting New Trailer for the WWII Action Film MIDWAY From Director Roland Emmerich
Roland Emmerich, the director of films such as Stargate and Independence Day, got a hell of a great cast of actors together for his upcoming action film which tells the epic World War II story of the battle of Midway. The film is called Midway, we’ve got a new trailer for it for you to watch today, and it’s filled with exciting action-packed footage!
The movie recounts the clash between “the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy which marked a pivotal turning point in the Pacific Theater during WWII. The film, based on the real-life events of this heroic feat, tells the story of the leaders and soldiers who used their instincts, fortitude and bravery to overcome the odds.” These soldiers and aviators “pulled off the unbelievable to turn the tide of the war in June 1942.”
I love watching films that are set during the big historical wars, and while I’m not the biggest fan of Emmerich’s recent work, I’m looking forward to watching it and that’s because of the cast. I’m a fan of the cast!
Midway stars Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring) as Admiral Edwin Layton, Luke Evans (The Alienist, Beauty and the Beast) as Commander Wade McClusky, Woody Harrelson (Solo: A Star Wars Story) as Admiral Chester Nimitz, Mandy Moore (This Is Us) and Darren Criss (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), and co-stars Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Nick Jonas (Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle), Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow), Keean Johnson (Alita: Battle Angel), and Tadanobu Asano (Thor, 47 Ronin).
Midway will hit theaters on November 8th.
