EXCLUSIVE: Hexany Audio Shares Behind the Scenes Video About Creating Music for CRITICAL ROLE's Soundtrack WELCOME TO TAL'DOREI
Critical Role recently launched the soundtrack Welcome to Tal’Dorei under the record label Scanlan Shorthalt Music. The soundtrack features almost an hours-worth of immersive music inspired by the land of Tal’Dorei and the world of Exandria fans have come to know and love from Critical Role. Who made that music though? A large part of the music was actually made by Hexany Audio.
Co-owned by Audio Director Richard Ludlow, Lead Composer Matthew Carl Earl, and Lead Sound Designer Kellen Fenton, Hexany Audio, the studio is responsible for 10 of the 17 tracks fans are digging. It’s always fun to get a bit more information about what happened behind the scenes and Hexany Audio recently shared with GeekTyrant an exclusive video they’ve made that features various composers talking about creating the various tracks. I think my favorite part is when Earl talks about the challenge of writing the music because there are no visuals to go with the music as the tracks were being made. This gave the composers a lot of creative space and I think it really paid off. What’s your favorite part of Welcome to Tal’Dorei?
