Trailer for Nicolas Cage's PRISONERS OF THE GHOSTLAND From the Studio That Produced MANDY and COLOR OUT OF SPACE
A new trailer has been released for director Sion Sono’s upcoming action adventure film, Prisoners of the Ghostland starring Nicolas Cage. This movie comes from the same studio that made Cage’s recent films Mandy and Color Out of Space.
The actor himself was quoted describing this film as, “The wildest movie I’ve ever made.” This is a pretty major claim for Cage, who has been making some extremely off-the-wall films over the last few years, not to mention his sprawling film career that boasts over 100 titles.
The film also stars Bill Moseley, Sofia Boutella, Nick Cassavetes, Tak Sakaguchi, Takato Yonemoto, Canon Nawata, Jai West, Charles Glover, and Grace Santos.
Here’s the synopsis:
In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber (Nicolas Cage) is sprung from jail by wealthy warlord The Governor (Bill Moseley), whose adopted granddaughter Bernice (Sofia Boutella) has gone missing. The Governor offers the prisoner his freedom in exchange for retrieving the runaway. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within fivedays, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman—and his own path to redemption.
This really does look like a crazy movie! I think anyone who enjoys Cage’s recent brand of batshit crazy action is going to dig this flick. Check it out below, and watch Prisoners of the Ghostland in theaters and on VOD and Digital on September 17, 2021.
