Exhilarating New Trailer For Peter Jackson's MORTAL ENGINES

Universal Pictures has released another trailer for producer Peter Jackson's new epic fantasy adventure film Mortal Engines. The trailer is filled with new footage and new details that shed some additional light on the story. Those details include a look into the past of the main character, Hester Shaw, and her motivations, along with the the reveal of a new sinister-looking villain.

The film was directed by Christian Rivers from a script co-written by Jackson himself and Philippa Boyens. The movie is based on the British series of novels by Philip Reeve and I’m pumped up for this movie! Not only does it have stunning visuals but it also looks like it tells a fascinating story.

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

The cast for the film includes Hugo Weaving (The Lord of Rings), Hera Hilmar (Da Vinci’s Demons), Robbie Sheehan (Geostorm), South Korean singer and actress Jihae (Mars), Ronan Raftery (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Leila George (Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?), Patrick Malahide (Game of Thrones) and Stephen Lang (Avatar).

Mortal Engines will hit theaters on December 14th.
