Extended Comic-Con Trailer For HANNIBAL; Show Will Now Air on Saturdays
At Comic-Con this past weekend, NBC and creator Bryan Fuller released an extended trailer for Fuller's adaptation of Hannibal, which the network recently announced would not be coming back for a fourth season. Amazon and Netflix have passed on it as well, leaving many with hopes that a film version is in the near future. (For the record, there's a sliver of a possibility that could happen, but rights issues may be too great to overcome.)
And there's even more bad news for the Fannibals out there: the show has now been moved to Saturday nights along with the David Duchovny series Aquarius. Saturday nights are normally ratings death zones, so it makes sense that the network would put Hannibal there for the remainder of its third season, but it doesn't really make a ton of sense that Aquarius would air on Saturdays considering that show has already been renewed for another season.
This relocation is probably going to be taken as an insult for fans of the drama series, but let's be real: if you're into the show, you're just going to alter your DVR and watch it on Saturdays now. The network has allowed some pretty gruesome imagery in its two and a half seasons so far, so I'm trying not to be bitter about it; I guess we should be thanking them that they let it go on this long in the first place. Check out the new trailer below, which features Richard Armitage as the Red Dragon:
