Extended Featurette For Sam Mendes' WWI Film 1917 Dives into the Story and Making of the Film

Universal Pictures has released an extended 11-minute featurette for director Sam Mendes’ upcoming World War I film 1917. This is a film that I’ve been very much looking forward to seeing. It looks like it will be an incredible film and this featurette gives us an interesting overview of the film, from the conception, the story, what went into making it, the cast, and more. If you’re excited about watching this movie, this is something that you’ve gotta watch. The work that went into making this film was incredible.

This is gonna be one hell of a wild, intense, and dramatic film and here’s the synopsis:

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic’s George MacKay) and Blake (Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers—Blake’s own brother among them.

Mendes wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful) and it also stars Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Madden, and Andrew Scott.

Universal Pictures will release the film domestically in limited release on December 25, 2019 and wide on January 10, 2020.
