F. Gary Gray is in Talks To Direct New MEN IN BLACK Film
F. Gary Gray, the director behind Straight Outta Compton and The Fate of the Furious is in negotiations with Sony Picture and Amblin Entertainment to direct the new Men in Black movie. I've enjoyed these most recent films that Gary Gray has made and it seems like Men in Black would be a solid project for him.
The script for the film comes from Iron Man scribes Matt Holloway and Art Marcum and the studio greenlit the picture on their draft. The producing team, which consists of Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Steven Spielberg, have been trying to figure out the best way to reboot the franchise.
There's no word on what this next installment will entail, but we do know that it will feature a whole new cast. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not return. And in case you were wondering, Sony Pictures is also still developing a spinoff film that would crossover with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill's 21 Jump Street.
With bringing F. Gary Gray on to direct, hopefully, this new Men in Black film will turn out great. I've enjoyed the films in this franchise and I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for it next.
The new Men in Black film is set to be released on June 14th, 2019.
