F1 22 Is Getting Full Cross-Play Later This Month
If you’re a fan of F1 racing and gaming, you might be playing F1 22. EA and Codemasters recently announced the game would get a lot better later this month. Later this month, F1 22 will have fully integrated cross-play! There’s no exact date but the team is running some trials including one from August 12-14 in Social Race and Two-Player Career modes. Once implemented, players across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One (affiliate link), and Xbox Series X|S (affiliate link) will be able to play together. I am a huge proponent for cross-play and am always excited when a game implements it. Talking about the move, Lee Mather at Codemasters said:
Cross-play brings all our players together and allows them to settle the score of who is the best driver across all platforms. Cross-play also allows us to create better matchmaking opportunities so players can compete against rival racers with similar attributes.
It should be noted that cross-play will be an opt-in situation and so you can disable it if you don’t like it for any reason. Are you excited for cross-play to be implemented in F1 22?
