Facebook's CURSE OF AKAKOR Series Hopes to Solve a Real Mystery of the Amazon

Facebook has a new docuseries coming out called Curse of Akakor. This series will try to explore why three explorers went missing while searching for the lost city of Akakor. If you’re into real-life treasure hunting, this could be an interesting series to check out.

The series revolves around the mystery of three explorers on separate expeditions who disappeared in the 1980s while seeking a city of gold called Akakor and its sister city, Akahim, as well as the peculiar murder of the author of the definitive book on the lost city. For almost 40 years, the disappearances and murder have remained unexplained.

The six-person team for the series includes Former FBI Agent Bobby Chacon, Irish journalist Paul Connolly, tech geek Brennon Edwards, British survival expert Megan Hine, Brazilian wilderness doctor Dr. Karina Oliani, and Arizona geologist Dr. Martin Pepper. Curse of Akakor will premiere on Facebook Watch on August 11 and invites viewers to share their own theories of what happen on the official Facebook page.
