FALL 2: DEADPOINT Trailer Will Amplify Your Fear of Heights and Leave Your Palms Sweaty
If the original Fall had you gripping the edge of your seat and questioning every decision involving tall structures, get ready to relive that anxiety all over again.
Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint, and it looks like the franchise is taking its nerve-shredding survival thrills to even more terrifying extremes.
The first film turned a remote radio tower into the setting for one of the most stressful thrillers in recent memory. Rather than simply repeating that formula, the sequel shifts the danger to an entirely different environment while keeping the same heart-pounding sense of exposure and dread.
This time, the action unfolds on the side of a mountain in Thailand, where a climbing adventure spirals into a desperate fight for survival.
The trailer is packed with stomach-churning shots of impossible heights, narrow ledges, and situations that look destined to go horribly wrong. If you struggled through the first movie with sweaty palms, this footage is likely to trigger the exact same reaction. For anyone dealing with a fear of heights, consider this your warning.
The official synopsis reads: “From the survival hit that tapped into the fear of heights and left two friends stranded at the top of a tower comes a climb that goes higher, gets deadlier, and hits with next-level adrenaline.
“In Fall 2: Deadpoint, two friends take on new heights in Thailand, where unpredictable terrain, extreme exposure, and nowhere to hide push survival further than ever before.”
This installment is being directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, the filmmaking duo best known for Jigsaw. While Scott Mann directed the original film, he stepped away from directing duties this time around, allowing the Spierig brothers to bring their own style to the growing franchise.
The original Fall arrived in 2022 and became one of the year's most pleasant surprises. Produced on a modest $3 million budget, the survival thriller pulled in nearly $22 million worldwide and earned strong reviews from audiences and critics alike. It proved that a simple concept executed well could be every bit as effective as a much larger production.
The success was significant enough that the franchise didn't stop with a single follow-up. Two sequels were approved, meaning Fall 3 is already planned for the future. Apparently, there are still plenty of terrifying places at great heights left for people to get stranded.
Leading the cast of Fall 2: Deadpoint is Harriet Slater (Outlander: Blood of My Blood), alongside Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) and Tom Brittney (Grantchester). The screenplay was written by Jonathan Frank and Scott Mann, with Mann also producing alongside James Harris, Mark Lane, David Haring, and Christian Mercuri.
Fall 2: Deadpoint looks determined to crank up the tension and make audiences feel every dizzying foot of elevation. If the goal is to make viewers uncomfortable in the best possible way, it seems to be accomplishing that mission already.
Fall 2: Deadpoint arrives in theaters on September 2.
