Family Tensions Rise When Things Start to Go Bump in the Night in Trailer for THE HUMANS
A24 has shared a trailer for a new film titled The Humans, which is based on the Tony award-winning stage play of the same name.
The film is set inside a pre-war duplex in downtown Manhattan, and the story follows “the course of an evening in which the Blake family gathers to celebrate Thanksgiving at this apartment. As darkness falls outside the crumbling building, mysterious things start to go bump in the night and family tensions reach a boiling point.”
While that synopsis makes the film sound like a horror movie, as you’ll see in the trailer, there is a lot more drama going on than horror, which is fine! The movie looks good and it has a great ensemble cast that includes Richard Jenkins, Jayne Houdyshell, Amy Schumer, Beanie Feldstein, Steven Yeun, and June Squibb.
It’s said, "The piercingly funny and haunting debut film from writer-director Stephen Karam… The Humans explores the hidden dread of a family and the love that binds them together."
A24 will release The Humans in select US theaters on November 24th, 2021.
