Famke Janssen Set to Star in Post-Apocalyptic Thriller ONE SECOND AFTER Based on Novel of the Same Name

Famke Janssen (X-Men, How to Get Away With Murder) has signed on to star in the upcoming MPI Original feature film, One Second After, based on William R. Forstchen’s novel of the same name. The story takes place during the aftermath of an electromagnetic pulse attack on the United States.

The film explores the collapse of society, the struggle of individuals and communities to survive without modern technology and infrastructure and the resilience of humans in the face of a harsh new reality.

Janssen will play Mayor Kate Lindsey, a political figure who takes over during the crisis. She is joined by Josh Holloway (Duster, Lost, Yellowstone) and Hannah John-Kamen (Thunderbolts*, Ant-Man and the Wasp).

The screenplay is adapted by J. Michael Straczynski (Sense8, Jeremiah, Babylon 5), and it’s being produced by Rob Pfaltzgraff and Nick Reid of MPI Original films (Motherland, Pinball: The Man Who Saved The Game) and Matt Kennedy of Startling Inc. (Game of Thrones). Second unit director and stunt coordinator Scott Rogers (Tron: Ares, John Wick: Chapter 4) will direct the film.
