Zack Snyder Adds STAR WARS Imagery to BVS Trailer to Create a Mega-Franchise Crossover Video
If you paid attention to movie blogs like this one during the production of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, you'll know Snyder is a big fan of Star Wars. Not only did he reportedly pitch his own standalone film to Lucasfilm a while back, but while making BVS, he and The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams had some fun going back and forth with strange crossover images that combined imagery from both franchises. It all started when Snyder posted an image of Henry Cavill as a Sith Lord, Abrams fired back with C-3PO as the Dark Knight, we then got an image of Batman with R2-D2, followed by The Gotham City Police arresting a Stormtrooper. The last one came from Abrams sticking a Batmobile on the bottom of the Millennium Falcon.
Now Snyder has posted a fun video that actually combines imagery from the Star Wars saga with the teaser of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It's a little goofy at times, but for fans who love both franchises, it's gotta be cool to see X-Wings flying through the skies next to Superman and Batman threateningly wielding a lightsaber. But the best part might be Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne staring at a Darth Vader costume in his Batcave. Nicely done.
Here's Snyder's description:
Dark Side Knight v Superjedi. In anticipation of Rogue One, I wanted to share a little Star Wars fan film I made after JJ released his Hunka Junk mashup... long overdue.
