Fan Backlash of THE LAST JEDI "Cured" Christopher McQuarrie's Desire to Direct a STAR WARS Film

Fans of the Mission: Impossible franchise and many other Tom Cruise movies will recognize the name of Christopher McQuarrie. He has written Jack Reacher, Edge of Tomorrow, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation and he directed those Mission: Impossible films and Jack Reacher. Some Star Wars fans have expressed interest in McQuarrie tackling a movie in that universe. Those fans will probably never get to see that happen. After posting a tribute to the late Rod Serling on the anniversary of his death, some people on Twitter jumped on to yell about “sjw (social justice warrior) nonsense” ruining fiction at McQuarrie and Rian Johnson who had retweeted McQuarrie’s tweet. The argument led to McQuarrie posting this tweet.

In addition, some fans asked if there was a superhero movie that he’d be interested in tackling, to which he responded:
