Fan-Favorite Actor Clancy Brown Joins THE BOYS Spinoff Series GEN V
Fan-favorite actor Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, Highlander, Dexter, SpongeBob SquarePants, Daredevil, The Punisher) is joining Amazon’s The Boys franchise! He has been cast in the upcoming spinoff series titled Gen V.
The news comes from One Take News, which says that his role is currently being kept under wraps, and that Brown will appear in at least one episode of the spin-off. I just hope that he ends up playing a badass villain.
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (Bones), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann (Caviar), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop), and Marco Pigossi (Invisible City).
The project is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men in The Boys comic book series. “Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”
Gen V is executive produced by showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. Executive producers are Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, Michaela Starr, and Brant Engelstein.
