Fans Point Out How STRANGER THINGS Season 2 Links to Stephen King's IT
It's no secret that some of the inspiration for Stranger Things came from the stories of Stephen King. The influence of King is heavily felt throughout the series, but some fans have pointed out some specific moments from Season 2 that connects the series directly to Stephen King's IT.
EliteDaily suggests that Stranger Things and IT take place in the same universe, but I don't believe that for a second. That way too much of a reach. However, Stranger Things definitely contains homages to IT and some fans on Twitter pointed them out and you can see them below.
One of the most intriguing connects that was pointed out involved Bob and how his parents are from Maine and he was haunted by a clown when he was a kid.
Bob’s parents are from Maine, and he was haunted by an evil clown when he was a kid which would’ve been in the late 50’s #StrangerThings pic.twitter.com/G1SfJiCHRd

Finn Wolfhard says the same line in both #StrangerThings and the movie IT pic.twitter.com/70RvYf1AwG

He also found victory over the clown when he stopped showing fear. #Parallels

And when he imitates the clown saying, “hey kid you want a balloon?” it is very close to how Pennywise sounds
