Fans Reveal Early Designs for Omnimon from DIGIMON: THE MOVIE

Digimon: The Movie was so cool when it came out in the United States. I remember being so excited when my friend had it since I had missed the theatrical release. Well, one of the coolest parts of the film was seeing Omnimon appear. It was a fused Mega-level Digimon formed from War Greymon and Metal Garurumon and also known as Omegamon (personally I think that’s a cooler name). Well, over on Twitter, one fan has shared a small collection of early designs by Kejin Watanabe for Omegamon.

According to Kejin Watanabe, he dind't work with too much external influence, but for Omegamon he had to work close with Mamoru Hosoda, Bokura no War Game director.

The early designs feature one that has what appears to be War Greymon’s torso and head on Metal Garurumon’s body for a centaur-like feel. Another looks too close to War Greymon for me to really think it’s awesome. However, the third one looks very similar to the final art that we did see, just some small changes like wings and actual hands. There are some pretty cool designs in here that are equally awesome to the final product. Which of these is your favorite?
