FANTASTIC FOUR Actor Toby Kebbell Travels to KONG: SKULL ISLAND
The character of Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four may be the one who suffered the most from script changes, rewrites, reshoots, and the general disaster that was the production of that film, since he was initially playing a hacker named Victor Domashev and eventually was reworked to become the more traditional Victor Von Doom. Like the rest of the cast, actor Toby Kebbell did what he could with the role, but the film basically hung him out to dry and didn't do him any favors.
Thankfully, it looks like he's still finding more work, as THR reports that he's in negotiations with Legendary Pictures to join Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins, and maybe Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reilly in their upcoming creature feature Kong: Skull Island. Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) is directing, and earlier this week, Jurassic World co-writer Derek Connolly was hired to rewrite the script.
There's no word yet on who Kebbell would be playing — in fact, most of the story is still shrouded in mystery — but he's a talented guy who worked wonders as Koba in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes before Fantastic Four left a sour taste in audiences' mouths. Hopefully he can brush that experience off and jump right back into making solid movies again.
