Fantastic Teaser Trailer for Nicholas Hoult's J.R.R. Tolkien Film TOLKIEN Is About Journeys, Adventures, and Fellowship

Fox Searchlight has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming film Tolkien in which Nicholas Hoult takes on the role of legendary author J.R.R. Tolkien, the creator of Middle Earth. The movie looks absolutely wonderful and very moving. As a fan of the books Tolkien has written, this is a movie that I’m very much looking forward to seeing!

The movie will explore Tolkien’s early life and follow "the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a fellow group of outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the 'fellowship' apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels."

The movie also stars Lily Collins as Edith, Tolkien’s wife, as well as Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris, and Derek Jacobi.

Tolkien was directed by Dome Karukoski from a script written by David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford, and it will be released in theaters on May 1st.
