Fantastic Trailer for Musical Comedy Series SCHMIGADOON! Starring Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key
Apple TV+ has released a new trailer for their fun new series Schmigadoon!, a musical comedy that follows a couple, played by Cecily Strong (SNL) and Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), into a real-life musical land that they can’t escape from. The series also features some great musical talents including Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, Ariana DeBose, Fred Armisen, Jaime Camil, Jane Krakowski, and Ann Harada, as well as an appearance by the great Martin Short.
Schmigadoon! was created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, the partners who previously created the Despicable Me and Secret Life of Pets animated franchises, as well as the Dr. Seuss movies Horton Hears a Who! and The Lorax. Cecily Strong is producing alongside Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer at Broadway Video, and Paul is serving as showrunner with Daurio writing and working as consulting producer. Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) is directing the series and executive producing as well.
The first two episodes of Schmigadoon! will be available on Apple TV+ on July 16, 2021, with new episodes weekly on Fridays. This looks like such a fun comedy, and I’m excited to watch. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think.
