FAR CRY 5's Campaign Could Take Players 25 Hours to Complete

Aside from offline support in the single-player campaign and the presence of cosmetic microtransactions, Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world game, Far Cry 5 will take players at least 25 hours to complete. This was confirmed by the game’s executive producer, Dan Hay to GameSpot during a recent interview. 

Furthermore, Hay said that based on the playtests they’ve conducted, they’ve observed that players are getting distracted from the main story with small things such as fishing and hunting that extended the time players spend on the primary campaign. Of course, 25 hours is just an estimate by the developer since every player plays differently.

“What we’re seeing is people going into the world and just spending four or five hours fishing or hunting, or just doing stuff that we hadn’t really prepared for,” Hay said. “So it really depends on how you play.”

Besides the primary campaign, which can also be played in co-op mode, Far Cry 5 will introduce a map-editor that aims to boost the creativity of players and to give the game a shot at staying relevant in the long term. Hay also told GameSpot that he found Far Cry 4’s map editor “clunky,” and hoped that the advancements they've made for Far Cry 5, will make the map editor smoother and easier to use this time around.
